Stefan de Vrij’s injury to the adductor of his right leg will keep him out for Inter’s match against Chievo, but his season is by no means over according to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Stefan had already had a similar injury previously this season at the end of March during a training session with the Netherlands, which forced him to miss three straight games in the league with Inter (against Lazio, Genoa, and Atalanta.)

“However, this is not a relapse of that injury, this time it is a different part of the adductor that is causing him trouble. The lesion is also smaller than the one in March.

“Inter are hoping that the defender will be able to make a return against Napoli, or, more likely, against Empoli for the last game of the season. Hopefully to avoid a premature end to his season.”

The Dutch defender has made 35 appearances this season for Inter and has scored two goals and tallied one assist.
