Inter have informed Monaco of their intention’s to not take up their option to turn Keita Balde’s loan move into a permanent one at the end of the season according to a report from FCInterNews.it.

The two clubs agreed to a €34 million fee to make the move permanent but Inter do not feel that the Senegalese winger’s performances this term warrant them coughing that up.

The Nerazzurri are to try and see if they can get Monaco to agree to reduce the fee or alternatively see if they can agree to a new loan with redemption option deal.

FCInterNews.it go on to report that Monaco are interested in signing Inter midfielder Joao Mario.

Inter value the Portuguese midfielder at between €15/16 million and would not be opposed to letting the 26-year-old go on a permanent basis.

In order for this to be a possibility however, Monaco will need to avoid relegation to Ligue 2. With just two games left to go, Monaco are only outside of the relegation zone on goal difference.
