Finishing third in Serie A will result in Inter earning just shy of an extra €6 million come the end of the season according to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport.
Inter will earn €800,000 more than they would if they finished in fourth place, €2.5 million more of TV rights money and €2.5 million of the Champions League money pot for a combined total of €5.8 million.
Inter could secure third place if they are win tonight against Napoli so long as Atalanta are to lose away to Juventus, who will be presented with the Serie A title today.
The Milan based newspaper also goes on to take a look at how Inter will be approaching tonight’s match at the Stadio San Paolo.
“Close it here. Don’t leave it until the last day, the last hour, the last minute, just don’t give space for any possible be psychodramas. Don’t worry about Empoli’s motivations. Don’t get out of breath and take another step forward compared to the last year; Inter goes to Naples carrying a suitcase full of these intentions. They will hope to return with the three points that are required for Champions League qualification, that they would be securing a round earlier than last year.”
