Court Rules In Favor Of Inter-Bound Antonio Conte In Chelsea Case

Antonio Conte has won the lawsuit against Chelsea who had fired him in July 2018 and has suspended payments due to the Italian coach.

Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport confirms that Roman Abramovich will have to pay compensation of about €11 million.

“The ending between Chelsea and Antonio Conte’s relationship was bitter. Conte had been successful with Chelsea but due to misunderstandings and disagreements with the club, it was decided that his time there was up. Conte was then replaced by Maurizio Sarri afterwards.”

“Chelsea justified the reasons for the exemption for just cause and suspended the payment of his salary. The reasons that the Blues provided were regarding Diego Costa’s farewell, in which Conte informed him of the fact that he did not need him anymore through text message.”

“Other reasons were the fact that Conte would occasionally delay some press conferences and even having parked his car in spaces reserved for other employees. Ultimately the court ruled in Conte’s favor.”
