Nainggolan’s Difficult First Season At Inter

Sunday’s match with Empoli will mark the end of what has been a difficult and undoubtedly frustrating debut campaign at Inter for Radja Nainggolan, a report from Corriere dello Sport details.

The Belgian’s season has been interrupted by injury several times whilst there has also been a few off-field issues that have played a part in his season not panning out as expected.

Since arriving at the club from Roma last Summer he certainly has not made the desired impact, at least on a regular basis.

In a bid to correct this, the 31-year-old, in agreement with the club, agreed to make some changes to his personal life and how he approaches training.

After Sunday’s match, wherein Inter need a victory to secure a Champions League place, he will be able to rest and reset for his second season at the club, a season which he will no doubt hope will be better than this one.

This season he has made 35 appearances across all competitions. In 2353 minutes on the park, he has contributed six goals and tallied three assists.
