According to a report from Corriere dello Sport, a portion of Inter’s support chanted derogatory chants against people from Naples during last night’s match against Empoli.

As the team’s headed into the dressing room’s at half time, a section of Inter’s Curva Nord began to sing chants abusing Naples and Neapolitans.

This is the second time in recent weeks that these songs have been sung at San Siro with them also being sung during Inter’s 2-0 win over Chievo Verona, two weeks ago.

Back in March during the Milan derby, some of Inter’s support targeted Milan’s Franck Kessie with their chants and Inter were hit with a suspended sentence for a further stadium closure, following closures earlier in the season.

The chants sung against Chievo Verona would have in all likelihood seen that sentence enforced but due to the report arriving late, Inter escaped any punishment.

It now remains to be seen what will happen after this latest unsavoury incident.
