Ivan Cordoba is convinced that countryman Duvan Zapata would be a hit at Inter if the Nerazzurri were to swoop in for the Atalanta forward.
“He showed this year that he was ready. with all he has done, to play for a top club. In my opinion, Serie A is the most difficult league in the world but in spite of this, he managed to score lots of goals and also put in a lot of good performances,” the former Inter defender remarked in an interview with Colombian radio station. “He is a player who makes himself available to the team and does not just hang around in the penalty box to score goals. He helps his teammates, he is a modern player and he would be very comfortable at Inter.”
He was also asked if there are any players out there at the moment which he thinks resemble him during his playing days.
“I laugh because when I talk to teams I am always asked about who the new Ivan Cordoba is. I think I had a special gift from god as it’s not easy to find a man as tall as me who played as a central defender in Italy and I don’t see a player with the characteristics I had.”
