Former Inter defender Massimo Paganin has discussed a number of the recent transfer rumours concerning Inter as well as the seemingly imminent arrival of Antonio Conte as the next manager.

“There are few players out there like Mauro Icardi. Romelu Lukaku’s name has been mentioned and I think that the club will satisfy Conte’s demands on the transfer market,” he told TuttoMercatoWeb radio.

Conte can count on a consolidated corporate structure, with elements able to follow and assist him. The arrival of Gabriele ‘Lele’ Oriali is important, since he knows the club and the team will be built accordingly.

Paganin was then asked about comparisons between reported Inter targets Edin Dzeko and Lukaku.

“They are both very physical strikers which can help the team out. The choice must be made based on their ages. Dzeko is older than Lukaku and this could have a big effect. Dzeko has proved that he is a good player in Italy though.”

He then spoke about the team more generally and what kind of difference Conte could make.

“Inter already have a good team but the signings that they make must improve the quality of the team. Conte will be able to get the best out of the players.”

Paganin concluded the interview by speaking on another Inter transfer target in Cagliari midfielder Nicolo Barella.

“He has grown a lot and still has the possibility to develop further. He has played in a similar role to Radja Nainggolan and he has proven to have excellent margins for growth and quality.”
