Journalist Baiocchini: “Icardi Wants Inter Stay & Could Request Contract Talks”

Sky Sport journalist  Manuele Baiocchini has claimed that Mauro Icardi wishes to remain at Inter and could ask to resume talks with the club over a new deal.

“He wants to stay and if possible have a meeting with the company regarding a contract renewal. Everything will depend on what Antonio Conte says, but from what I know he would like to stay but it is yet to be understood if the club agree,” he said.

Various reports in recent weeks and months have suggested that Icardi’s time at the Nerazzurri is up after this season, which has been full of off-field dramas.

The 26-year-old, who lost the club captaincy back in February, made 37 appearances across all competitions for Inter over the course of the 2018/19 season.

In just shy of 3000 minutes on the park the former Sampdoria striker notched a total of 17 goals and also provided five assists for teammates.
