Wanda Nara has reiterated Mauro Icardi’s desire to stay at Inter for ‘at least another season’ in an interview on Argentine TV.

Icardi is widely expected to leave the club this summer after being stripped of the captaincy in February and disowned by the vast majority of supporters.

However, the forward’s wife and agent told TyC Sport the 26-year-old still has other ideas, despite the club’s desire to sell him.

“Mauro still has one-and-a-half years left on his contract and his intention is to stay at Inter for at least another season,” Wanda said.

Inter’s new head coach Antonio Conte will not oppose an eventual departure for Icardi after deciding the Argentine was not part of his plans for the coming season.

It remains to be seen how many proper offers Inter will receive for him, though, following a chaotic second half of the season in which he failed to score a single goal from open play.
