Inter are on the brink of securing Roma striker Edin Dzeko as their second signing of the summer after Piero Ausilio met with the Giallorossi yesterday, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

Dzeko has agreed a two-year deal with the Nerazzurri worth €4 million in wages, with Roma no longer interested in offering him a contract extension at a reduced salary.

Inter and Roma met on Monday to begin discussing the final details of their agreement, which is expected to include a cash part of €10-12 million and one young Inter player.

Roma hope to repeat the trick they pulled off last summer when they signed Nicolo Zaniolo as part of the deal which took Radja Nainggolan to San Siro, although they have not yet agreed with Inter which player this will be.

“Inter believe in Dzeko and will make the effort to get the deal done,” Gazzetta reported today.

“The impression is he still has a lot more to give, especially in Europe.”
