Inter boss Antonio Conte is confident strikers Edin Dzeko and Romelu Lukaku could play together if the Nerazzurri brought both to the club this summer, according to Corriere dello Sport.

Conte wants to adopt a 3-5-2 system in his first year at Inter and is leaning towards playing with two physical strikers who complement each other.

If Roma and Manchester United both agreed to sell their forwards, it would be Dzeko acting as the second striker and Lukaku playing as a more traditional no. 9.

“Dzeko would be coming short and helping Inter in their build-up play, while it would be Lukaku’s job to make runs in behind while exploiting his strength and power,” the paper explained.

“What’s curious is that Dzeko rarely played with another pure centre-forward at Roma. Most often he played with two wingers in an attempt to guarantee him service in the box.”

The Bosnian is expected to complete a €10-12 million move to Inter next week while Lukaku remains distant, with Manchester United continuing to ask for €70 million according to recent reports.
