Inter are not interested in signing Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka despite reports in the Swiss media suggesting they were close to finalising a deal.
RSI Sport yesterday claimed the Nerazzurri were on the brink of reaching an agreement with the Premier League outfit for the 26-year-old, who scored four goals and provided five assists in all competitions last season.
However, Sportitalia denied the rumours last night after seeking verification and said there were no negotiations in progress between the two clubs.
Xhaka joined Arsenal from Borussia Monchengladbach in a deal worth £35 million in 2016 and has made 134 appearances for the Gunners since.
The midfielder also boasts 68 caps for the Swiss national team, with whom he has also scored 11 goals.
Inter are expected to complete a deal to sign Cagliari midfielder Nicolo Barella in the coming weeks, with the clubs due to meet for further talks at the end of the week.
