Inter will send scouts to watch the club’s former midfielder Marko Arnautovic on international duty for Austria tomorrow, according to Sky Sports Austria.

Arnautovic made three appearances for the Nerazzurri under Jose Mourinho in 2009-10 before joining Werder Bremen and then moving to the Premier League.

The 30-year-old played 29 matches for West Ham last season and will be involved when Austria play Slovenia in Euro 2020 qualifying in Klagenfurt on Friday.

Yesterday he denied having had any contact with other clubs but he is known to want to leave, nearly forcing through a move to China during the January transfer window.

The TV station admitted Inter’s scouts could be at the stadium to watch other players involved as well, but they did not offer any specific names beyond Arnautovic – whose return to San Siro would represent a huge surprise.

Atalanta, Chievo, SPAL, Nurnberg and Augsburg will also send scouts to the match at the Worthersee Stadium.
