Inter Fullback Kwadwo Asamoah: “Antonio Conte Never Gives Up”

Inter’s Ghanaian international full-back Kwadwo Asamoah, says that newly appointed Nerazzurri coach Antonio Conte is not sentimental about the past but instead always looks forward to the next challenge, when speaking to Ghanaian media outlet GhGossip.com.

“I think he is a very aggressive and never gives up. Even if we are winning every day, even when the season is over and we have become champions he never gives up.”

“I remember in my third year [at Juventus] with him, we had won the Scudetto and we had 6-7 games left to play. I think that in all the world, when a team has won the league, that’s when they start to slow down in training, sometimes you might even have 4-5 days off.”

“But this man never gives up, we were training almost every day, he never gave up and we had to win all the games left. He wanted us to reach a point that no-one had reached before in Italy. So he is one of the coaches, for good or bad, that no matter the situation he never gives up.”

“He is a coach that if you challenge him, he will just take out [of the team], he doesn’t care. If he has a player that maybe has lesser qualities but he does what Conte wants, he will put that player on the field.”

“I think it was a month before the season ended that I decided to leave Juventus. It was a very difficult decision for me to leave after 6 years with so many achievements and the relationship I had with the team and the fans, I couldn’t just tell them that I am leaving.”

“It was very difficult for me, it got to the point that when I went to bed I couldn’t fall asleep but I had to also look to the future, for my family and then make a decision. Also, for my career, the first three years at Juventus I struggled and had some difficulties and I had to come back.”

“So I needed changes and I needed a new challenge for myself and my family, I want to do my best at all times. [Inter] they spoke to me about their project, and I am happy to be part of the team. It is a team that is trying to win the league, they are building a very good team.”

“They are back in the Champions League, so I am just happy to be with them, and I always want to give my best for the team.”
