Roma have offered Inter €30 million plus Edin Dzeko to sign striker Mauro Icardi, according to La Repubblica.

The Giallorossi are serious about trying to sign the 26-year-old as they attempt to prove the club’s ambition to their sceptical supporters, but Icardi may not want to move to the capital.

Inter consider the offer to be far too low and would like at least €25 million more, bringing the overall valuation to €70 million with Dzeko valued at €15 million.

Juventus have been pursuing him for weeks and reportedly have personal terms agreed already, but Paulo Dybala’s reluctance to accept a move to Inter has slowed talks.

“Inter are eager to sell Icardi quickly, a player Antonio Conte doesn’t like because of the tension he created in the dressing room last season,” La Repubblica said.

“Wanda and Icardi are fascinated by the prospect of going to Juventus but Roma will see if they have any chance of changing their minds when they return from their summer holidays.”

Inter would like to sell Icardi before 30 June in order to record a sizable capital gain in their 2018-19 financial records, but it seems difficult.
