Inter could soon have the opportunity to sign Real Madrid centre-back Nacho Fernandez as the Spanish giants prepare to refresh their options in defence, according to Sport.
Madrid are highly interested in Benfica’s 22-year-old defender Ruben Dias and his arrival would leave Nacho without much space next season, increasing the chances of a summer sale.
Inter and Napoli were identified by the Catalan paper as two clubs potentially interested, with Partenopei boss Carlo Ancelotti having already managed the player in Madrid.
Nacho has spent his entire professional career playing for Los Blancos and so far he has made 190 appearances in all competitions.
The 29-year-old has also played 22 matches for the Spanish national team, scoring once during La Roja’s 3-3 draw against Portugal at last summer’s FIFA World Cup in Russia.
Nacho has won 14 major honours with Madrid, including four UEFA Champions League titles in a row and one La Liga title in 2017.
