Inter are closing in on a deal to sell Primavera striker Davide Merola to Bologna, according to Sky Sport.
The Nerazzurri are looking to raise €45 million in capital gains before 30 June, in order to give themselves more room for maneouvre with Financial Fair Play next summer.
Piero Ausilio has frequently used Inter’s academy players to help balance the books in recent years and is attempting to do the same this month.
Merola had been linked with Roma and Pescara but Gianluca Di Marzio told viewers last night the 19-year-old would join the Rossoblu.
The forward made 32 appearances in all competitions for Inter’s Primavera side last season, scoring 12 goals and creating three assists.
Merola’s most eye-catching goal of the campaign came during a 4-2 win against Tottenham in the UEFA Youth League, but Armando Madonna’s side were eliminated at the group stage.
