Inter Reject Roma Approach For D’Ambrosio During Dzeko Talks

Inter have rejected an approach from Roma to include Danilo D’Ambrosio in their talks for Edin Dzeko, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

On Tuesday it seemed the clubs had reached an agreement for €10-12 million plus academy forward Edoardo Vergani, but Roma have decided they don’t want the youngster.

The Giallorossi preferred Sebastiano Esposito but Inter’s veto on the forward led them to request D’Ambrosio, a player new sporting director Gianluca Petrachi signed for Torino in 2014.

Neither Inter nor Roma needs to complete the deal before 30 June anymore, having found other players with which to raise capital gains for Financial Fair Play, meaning talks could stall again.

Dzeko was expecting to arrive at Inter next week after agreeing personal terms at the start of the month.

However, the Bosnian will have to wait a little longer before joining up with Antonio Conte, who wanted to sign him while at Chelsea in Janaury 2018.

Inter and Roma’s talks have not fallen through but they have slowed significantly since a breakthrough was reported to have been made a couple of days ago.
