Lorenzo Pellegrini’s agent today confirmed the midfielder will stay at Roma this season, despite being ‘flattered’ by interest from Inter.
The Nerazzurri recently made an approach for the 23-year-old, whose contract with the Giallorossi includes a €30 million release clause.
Giampiero Pocetta told Sky Sport there was no chance of Pellegrini leaving the capital, though.
“A lot of teams have expressed an interest in Lorenzo and some of them had interesting projects,” Pocetta said.
“To be honest, Lorenzo is very flattered by all of this interest both in Italy and abroad. But I can also assure you he will stay at Roma.
“Release clauses allow you to leave clubs you no longer want to play for, but Lorenzo’s wish is very clear and that is to play for Roma.
“Had he wanted to leave he would already have done so.”
Pellegrini scored four goals and created seven assists in all competitions last season as Roma finished sixth in Serie A.
