Atletico Madrid have reignited their interest in signing Inter striker Mauro Icardi during the Summer transfer window according to a report from AS.

Los Colchoneros’ sporting director Andrea Berta is a big fan of Icardi and his talents but in order to make a move, the Spanish giants will first need to move Diego Costa on.

The player has seemingly never hidden his desire to play in the Spanish top flight and it now remains to be seen if Atleti can satisfy Inter’s demands for the the 26-year-old striker.

The Wanda Metropolitano side however are not alone in courting the striker, who was yesterday publicly named by Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta as no longer part of the Inter project.

Napoli and Juventus are both believed to have an interest in Icardi but Inter would ultimately rather avoid selling the Argentine international to one of their Serie A rivals.
