Inter’s academy midfielder Lorenzo Gavioli will spend this season on loan at Venezia, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

The Veneti’s sporting director Fabio Lupo visited Inter’s offices this morning, along with the player’s agent Luca Ariatti, to finalise the details of the move.

Gavioli will join on loan with an option to buy but Inter will retain a counter-option should they wish to resign him next summer.

The deal will be announced as soon as Venezia’s readmission to Serie B, replacing Palermo after they went bankrupt, is officially confirmed.

Gavioli made 34 appearances in all competitions for Inter’s Primavera team last season, scoring three goals and creating three assists in their league campaign.

The 19-year-old was also included in the first-team squad for Inter’s Europa League match at home to Eintracht Frankfurt, but he remained an unused substitute.

Armando Madonna’s side finished second in the Campionato Primavera before losing to Atalanta in the end-of-year playoffs.
