Ivan Perisic’s Inter career looks set to continue after the forward was ‘revitalised’ by a one-to-one chat with Antonio Conte, Corriere dello Sport reported this morning.

The Croatian asked to leave the club in January amid interest from Arsenal and was widely expected to be sold before the new season.

Conte appears to have motivated the 30-year-old to stay put, though, during a series of face-to-face conversations with his new players.

“You can’t rule out Perisic leaving Inter because the transfer window is unpredictable and he remains tempted by the Premier League,” the paper warned.

“He is intrigued by the prospect of playing in a new position at left wing-back, though.”

Conte has used his individual chats to motivate the squad and hand out specific tactical advice, although he did neither when speaking to Mauro Icardi and Radja Nainggolan.

Inter’s players have had the Italian’s key concepts drilled into them during the first week of preseason, among which are respect for the rules and putting the team ahead of themselves.

“Conte is always in the middle of the pitch during training sessions,” Corriere added, moving onto his on-pitch methodology.

“He spurs his players on during tactical exercises, explains the movements he wants and asks for maximum intensity.”

Fitness coach Antonio Pintus has been in charge of the first team’s athletic drills, but while Conte’s other coaches are taking important roles when training with the ball.
