Inter are edging closer to agreeing a deal with Roma to sign Edin Dzeko, according to Corriere dello Sport.

The clubs were €10 million apart on their valuations for the 33-year-old but that gap has now been reduced to €6 million.

Inter have upped their offer from €10 million to €12 million while Roma have dropped their asking price from €20 million to €18 million.

“It’s at least a start, considering there is still a long way to go,” the paper said this morning.

Roma are not in a hurry to sell Dzeko because they do not currently have a replacement lined up, despite reported interest for Gonzalo Higuain.

Beppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio, meanwhile, have accepted the fact Inter will have limited resources during the first half of preseason.

Corriere suggested ‘something could begin to move’ at some point during the next week, with Antonio Conte eager to welcome Dzeko into his new-look first-team squad.
