Inter may consider giving Radja Nainggolan a second chance in Milan after his wife revealed she was battling cancer, Tuttosport suggested this morning.

Claudia wrote a tearful Instagram post on Thursday to confirm she was about to begin chemotherapy treatment.

Inter wanted to offload Nainggolan to China this summer, but Thursday’s news makes it highly unlikely he would accept a move to the other side of the world.

“Radja was absolutely for sale before this terrible development,” the paper assured.

“Who knows if this news could even convince the club to change their plans for the Belgian and his future.”

Nainggolan was greeted with delirium twelve months ago when he completed a big-money move from Roma to Inter.

The 30-year-old’s life has since been turned upside down, though, following a disappointing debut campaign and a series of inconvenient off-pitch issues.

Luciano Spalletti wanted the Ninja at all costs but he is no longer at Inter, while Antonio Conte has discarded him ahead of the coming season.

Nainggolan took part in a tactical exercise yesterday, having been excluded from everything up until then, but it was only because Conte needed him for numerical reasons.
