Mauro Icardi has consulted an unnamed agent about his position at Inter as Antonio Conte continues to freeze him out in preseason, according to La Repubblica.

Conte is excluding the Nerazzurri’s former captain from his tactical drills this week after deciding he was not part of his plans.

Inter have also sought professional advice as the saga drags on, but the paper admitted they did not know who these agents were.

Juventus appear to be the only club left in the running to sign Icardi after Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis ruled out a move yesterday.

Icardi returned to Inter’s team hotel alone on Thursday after being left out of another group exercise in Lugano.

The striker has remained extremely quiet throughout the summer and most recently spoke to defend Wanda Nara from criticism, confirming he had no intention to change agent.

Both parties must find a solution soon before their surreal standoff causes lasting damage for everyone.
