Radja Nainggolan is unlikely to accept a move to China because the Inter midfielder will want to stay close to wife Claudia, according to Tuttosport.

Claudia revealed she is battling cancer yesterday and told her followers on Instagram she was about to begin chemotherapy treatment.

Inter wanted to offload Nainggolan to the Super League but Thursday’s news makes it likely he will have other ideas about his future.

“Radja was absolutely for sale before this terrible development,” the paper reported this morning.

“Who knows if this news could even convince the club to change their plans for the Belgian and his future.”

Nainggolan was greeted with delirium twelve months ago when he completed a big-money move from Roma to Inter.

The 30-year-old’s life has since been turned upside down, though, following a disappointing debut campaign and a series of inconvenient off-pitch issues.

Luciano Spalletti wanted the Ninja at all costs but he is no longer at Inter, while Antonio Conte has discarded him ahead of the coming season.

Nainggolan took part in a tactical exercise yesterday, having been excluded from everything up until then, but it was only because Conte needed him for numerical reasons.
