Xian Emmers officially completed a season-long loan move to Belgian side Waasland-Beveren tonight.
Inter initially planned to send the midfielder to Standard Liege along with compatriot Zinho Vanheusden last month, but the centre-back ended up signing on his own.
Emmers made 20 appearances in Serie B for Cremonese last season, scoring once and creating one assist.
“Xian has been regarded as one of the greatest Belgian talents for many years,” a statement read tonight.
“Clubs from home and abroad were strongly interested in acquiring his services, but Emmers ultimately chose Waasland-Beveren because our project appealed to him the most.”
Emmers was one of the star players in Inter’s Primavera side when they won the 2017-18 league title under Stefano Vecchi.
The 19-year-old will hope to convince the Nerazzurri that he deserves a future in their first team under Antonio Conte.
Waasland-Beveren finished second bottom of Belgium’s Jupiler Pro League during the 2018-19 campaign.
