Inter wished Christian Vieri a happy birthday as the Nerazzurri’s former striker turned 46 on Thursday.

“Today, FC Internazionale Milano and Inter Forever wish all the very best to Christian Vieri on his 46th birthday,” a statement on the club’s website read.

“He’s the ninth-greatest goalscorer in Inter history with 123 goals from 190 appearances. For all, he was always ‘Bobo-gol’ and he won the 2004-5 Coppa Italia with the Nerazzurri.”

Earlier on his birthday, Vieri spoke to La Stampa and talked up Inter’s chances of battling Juventus for this season’s Serie A title.

“Juventus will win the Scudetto again this year,” Bobo assured.

“However, Inter have strengthened a lot and they’ve appointed a great coach. I think they’ll cause Juventus problems right until the end.”

Antonio Conte’s side will make their first official outing on Sunday when they play Swiss side Lugano at the Stadio Cornaredo, before flying out to Asia for their summer tour.
