Inter have not made any fresh progress in their talks to sign Edin Dzeko from Roma, reports in the capital suggested today.

Il Tempo insisted the Giallorossi have not lowered their €20 million asking price yet, while Inter continue to offer €10 million.

The Nerazzurri are willing to raise their bid to €12 million but that would still be some way short of the fee Roma want.

Other newspapers reported Roma were considering softening their bargaining stance, giving Inter renewed hope of securing a deal for the Bosnian.

Antonio Conte had seemingly hoped Inter would sign Dzeko and Romelu Lukaku before he began preseason training with his new club.

Neither are on the verge of joining, though, forcing the former Juventus and Chelsea boss to work with reserves and youngsters as he tours Asia.

Dzeko scored 14 goals in all competitions for Roma last season as they finished sixth in Serie A and reached the last 16 of the Champions League.

He also created 11 assists under Eusebio Di Francesco and Claudio Ranieri, exemplifying the all-round game which has attracted Conte to the 33-year-old.
