Inter & Roma Relations Improving As Dzeko Moves Closer To Nerazzurri

Inter’s chances of signing Edin Dzeko from Roma are growing as the clubs’ relations improve again, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

Tension emerged last month when the Giallorossi hijacked Inter’s bid to sign Nicolo Barella, reaching an agreement with Cagliari and putting pressure on the player.

Talks for Dzeko went on hold as a result, with neither club willing to make the first move towards the other.

“The icy atmosphere is thawing out, but the decisive meeting might have to wait until Inter’s management return from China,” Gazzetta reported this morning.

Inter are also studying alternative options up front and one of these remains Ante Rebic, who scored 10 goals in all competitions for Eintracht Frankfurt last season.

Piero Ausilio met the forward’s agent Fali Ramadani earlier this week and has already pursued the Croatian international in the past.

Rebic is not the same player as Dzeko or Romelu Lukaku but he could play as a second striker for Antonio Conte, should his top transfer targets fail to arrive.
