Inter’s Belgian midfielder Radja Nainggolan could return to former club Cagliari, Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia reports.

According to the report, the Sardinian club are looking into the possibility of signing their former midfield maestro from the Nerazzurri, amidst rumors that Sampdoria were interested.

Cagliari have an advantage over Sampdoria and that is according to Sky that Nainggolan himself is keen on returning to Sardinia, and has instructed his agent to try and find a deal.

An agreement has not been reached and a deal is far from being concluded, but given that Inter have declared that Nainggolan is not part of the project, and Cagliari wanting to bring him back as well as the player himself wanting to return to Sardinia, there is a good chance a deal could be found soon.

Nainggolan arrived at Cagliari in January 2010 and featured 137 times across all tournaments scoring 7 times for the club.
