Inter stand a good chance of agreeing a deal to sign Edin Dzeko for around €15 million soon, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

Roma made the Bosnian their captain for yesterday’s friendly against Gubbio, which was designed as a message of defiance towards the Nerazzurri.

Dzeko is worth €12 million in Beppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio’s opinion but the Giallorossi are adamant they want €20 million.

The 33-year-old has already agreed personal terms with Inter, though, which makes it more than likely the clubs will eventually agree a fee in the middle.

“In the dangerous world of the transfer market there are lots of different ways to conduct negotiations,” Gazzetta reported this morning.

“Roma will be trying to move the talks in the direction they prefer, and giving the armband to Dzeko yesterday might have helped them in that sense.”

Dzeko scored 14 goals in all competitions last season as Roma finished sixth in Serie A and reached the Champions League last 16.

Antonio Conte already tried to sign him while in charge of Chelsea and now he is making a second attempt to join up with the former Manchester City and Wolfsburg forward.
