Edin Dzeko Much Closer To Joining Inter As Roma Consider €15 Million Offer

Edin Dzeko moved closer to joining Inter yesterday after the Nerazzurri made Roma an improved €15 million offer, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

Beppe Marotta had previously bid €12 million for the Bosnian, but the response from the capital was that Dzeko would cost €20 million.

Roma have not accepted Inter’s new offer yet, but it is possible they will soon agree to a deal if Marotta includes a few extra bonuses.

The clubs will not need another formal meeting to reach an agreement, instead remaining in contact over the phone.

Dzeko has agreed a three-year deal worth €4.5 million annually with Inter and would free up the no. 9 spot at Roma.

Mauro Icardi will not fill the Giallorossi’s vacancy in attack, though, despite Inter briefly considering a part-exchange deal with their former captain yesterday.

Icardi wants to join Juventus but could soon be pushed towards signing for Napoli instead, should the Bianconeri complete their swap deal with Manchester United involving Romelu Lukaku and Paulo Dybala.
