Former Napoli player Nicola Amoruso believes that there is no need for his former employers to chase Inter striker Mauro Icardi in the transfer market.

Icardi has been told that he has no future at Inter but the Nerazzurri are struggling to offload the 26-year-old striker, whose value has halved compared to this time last year to approximately €60 million.

“Napoli already has a great striker in the shape of Arek Milik, who remains one of the best strikers in Europe,” Amoruso began an interview with Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli.

“He is an extraordinary player not just because of the number of goals he scores but also because he is technically good. So why would Napoli sign another striker? There is talk of Icardi but I would keep Milik, who I prefer as a striker.”

Napoli aside, Roma have also drawn links to Icardi, who still has two years left to run on his contract with Inter.
