Lawyer Roberto Afeltra has shared his views on the complex Mauro Icardi situation at Inter.

Following a series of controversial events last season, the Argentine striker was told earlier this Summer that he is no longer considered as part of the club’s plans going forward and that he should look for a new club as he would not play for Inter again.

“I believe that he has no chance of obtaining a contractual termination,” he told Corriere dello Sport.

To publicly say that a player is out of the project does not automatically become a reason for termination of the contract. Icardi would have to prove that Inter wants to prejudice his career.”

He then spoke on Icardi’s exclusion from Inter’s pre-season tour and reports that Icardi could threaten Inter with legal action for mobbing.

“If it is true that he was not on the tour because of physical reasons, Inter are not at risk of anything. Nainggolan is also considered out of the plans but he is physically well and that’s why he went on the tour. Excluding him would have been a violation of his contract. Mobbing means devaluing the qualities of a person or his work and this does not exist in football.”
