Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa has admitted he hopes Inter have taken notice of his recent performances for loan club Flamengo.
The Brazilian youngster has been in stellar form since arriving at the Mengao on loan and he has seemingly refused to give up hope of getting another chance at Inter.
“I don’t want to think about my future now as it doesn’t depend on me. I have another two years left on my contract with Inter, which I renewed before coming to Flamengo,” he remarked in an interview with Spectacular Sports.
“I hope that back in Italy they have seen the things I have done here and they consider me. For the time being though I am wanting to enjoy Flamengo. I am very young and I still have the chance to return to play in Europe.”
He also reflected on his time in Europe with Inter and Benfica that went anything but as planned.
“I was only given a few minutes. I scored my first goal faster than Neymar did but I didn’t have many opportunities. When I did, I think I did well. I went to a great club in Inter, but the team wasn’t doing very well, they had just changed coaches. I needed to play but I didn’t receieve great respect from the coach.”
