Inter’s bid to sign Edin Dzeko will officially fail if they do not complete a deal for the Roma striker before Sunday night, according to Corriere della Sera.

Roma play Real Madrid in a prestige friendly at the Stadio Olimpico and will present Paulo Fonseca’s new-look squad to supporters before kick-off.

Dzeko’s agent Silvano Martina visited the Nerazzurri’s offices yesterday and tried to persuade them to offer €20 million for the forward.

Roma will only sell the Bosnian international if their asking price is met, but time is running out for Inter to make the right offer.

Dzeko has reiterated his desire to join Inter in the last few days, having agreed personal terms with the club at the start of the summer.

The former Manchester City man is widely reported to be frustrated with the standby in talks, but he has not let it affect his performances in Roma’s preseason matches.

Antonio Conte needs two strikers before Inter begin their Serie A campaign against Lecce on 26 August.

It seems increasingly unlikely Dzeko will be one of them, however, as Conte’s employers remain reluctant to give Roma the money they want.
