Inter want to swap Federico Dimarco with Spal’s wing-back Mohamed Fares, according to calciomercato.com.

Antonio Conte has asked the Nerazzurri’s hierarchy to bring him another replacement on the left-hand side of his 3-5-2 system, having decided Ivan Perisic cannot play there.

Spal boss Leonardo Semplici this morning revealed Inter and Atalanta were both seeking a deal for Fares, who scored three goals in Serie A last year.

No official negotiations have taken place yet, but the players’ agents will speak to both clubs soon to explore whether the swap could really be feasible.

Dimarco is due to leave Inter again this summer after making 13 appearances for Parma last year.

The 22-year-old was linked with a move to Cagliari earlier today, but it appears the Rossoblu are not the only possible destination.

Fares made 35 appearances in Serie A last season as Semplici guided Spal to a comfortable survival for the second year running.

He boasts nine caps with the Algerian national team and played 64 matches for Verona before leaving the Gialloblu in 2018.
