Edin Dzeko was left out of Roma’s starting XI for their preseason friendly against Athletic Bilbao tonight.

Wednesday’s papers reported the striker was planning to refuse to take part in the Giallorossi’s next few matches, as he grows increasingly frustrated with their tactics in negotiations.

Inter have been following Dzeko since the start of the summer but are finding it incredibly difficult to make progress with Roma.

Roma still want €20 million to sell the former Manchester City forward, despite the fact he has entered the final year of his contract.

Dzeko has remained in silence so far this summer, in the hope Roma would eventually concede ground and grant him his wish of joining Inter.

There is still no sign this will happen, though, which has supposedly convinced the forward he needs to put his foot down.

Inter again met his agent Silvano Martina at their offices in Milan, who is hoping a breakthrough will be made soon.

It remains to be seen whether Dzeko’s newfound stubbornness will change Roma’s strategy, or if the capital club will continue to hold firm on their demands for him.
