Ivan Perisic received a warm welcome from his future Bayern Munich teammate David Alaba on Monday.

The Inter midfielder is due to complete a loan move to the German champions later this week, following the completion of a medical.

He scored nine goals for the Nerazzurri last season but was surplus to requirements under new head coach Antonio Conte.

Alaba told Bild: “Perisic is an experienced player. He’s good going forward, he’s strong in the air and he can play well with both feet.

“He’s someone who’s used to playing at a high level. There’s no question he has the qualities to give us a hand.”

Conte wanted to convert Perisic into a wing-back during preseason but his experiment ended after just one friendly.

The Croatian then played as a second striker while Inter toured Asia, but that position never truly convinced for him either.

Bayern are reportedly due to sign Perisic on a €5 million loan with an option to buy for €25 million.
