Inter wished Wesley Sneijder a healthy and happy future on Monday after the midfielder announced his retirement from football.

Sneijder was part of the side that helped the Nerazzurri win an historic treble in 2010, having signed from Real Madrid the previous summer.

He made 116 appearances in all competitions for the club, scoring 22 goals.

Inter tweeted: β€œIt was a pleasure watching you showcase your skills with us, Wesley. Best of luck for the future!

Sneijder also racked up 134 caps for the Dutch national team, leading the Oranje to the 2010 FIFA World Cup Final in South Africa.
