Edin Dzeko is happy to wait until the very end of this summer’s transfer window to join Inter, according to Corriere dello Sport.

The Bosnian striker could end up playing Roma’s first two matches of the new Serie A campaign before moving to the Nerazzurri.

Roma are likely to want his future resolved long before then but for Dzeko this would not be a problem, not least because he already had a similar experience last year.

“Eusebio Di Francesco started Dzeko in a match against Sampdoria at Marassi in January 2018, despite Monchi having already sold him to Chelsea,” the paper recalled this morning.

“He was repaid that night with a last-minute equaliser, and in the end Dzeko decided to stay at Roma after failing to agree personal terms.”

Antonio Conte was keen to bring the former Manchester City striker to the Premier League and now he is trying to get hold of Dzeko again at Inter.

And his bid to secure the 33-year-old could be helped by news Roma have identified Arkadiusz Milik as a possible replacement.

Milik would become surplus to requirements at Napoli if the Partenopei completed a deal for Mauro Icardi and is admired for his technique, link-up play and clinical work in front of goal.

The Poland international also earns significantly less than Dzeko, Mauro Icardi and Gonzalo Higuain, making him a doubly appealing profile for the Giallorossi.
