Inter, Napoli & Roma Plotting Three-Way Striker Swap To Compromise Juventus

Inter are plotting a three-way striker swap with Napoli and Roma to scupper Juventus’ search for a new striker, according to Corriere dello Sport.

The merry-go-round would see Mauro Icardi move to Napoli, with Edin Dzeko signing for Inter and Arkadiusz Milik joining Roma.

The paper assured it was by no means an easy plan to put into practice because it required six different parties to all reach separate agreements.

In any case, Icardi would remain the key to the move because Inter’s former captain is still holding out for a move to Juventus.

Dzeko is waiting on a move to the Nerazzurri after agreeing a three-year deal two months ago, while Milik is popular at Roma despite not being of interest to Beppe Marotta or Piero Ausilio.

Maurito’s future is far less clear than his two counterparts, though, with both Roma and Napoli still working hard to win over his resistance.

The striker has taken a few days to reflect on his options and is unlikely to make any decision before Monday, when there will be just two weeks until the end of the transfer window.

It remains to be seen how long Icardi is prepared to wait for Juventus, who still need to offload a couple of forwards before they can make any move.
