Mauro Icardi Convinced Inter Will Give Him Second Chance If Dzeko Doesn’t Arrive

Mauro Icardi is confident Inter will give him a second chance at the club if they cannot complete a deal for Edin Dzeko, according to Sky Sport.

The striker’s future remains extremely unclear with less than three weeks until the transfer window closes.

Napoli and Roma are the only two clubs in the running at present because Juventus have yet to make an offer for the 26-year-old.

The Bianconeri appear to be Maurito’s preferred destination, but they cannot make a move until they have sold some forward players.

Inter have not lost hope of signing Dzeko but Roma are not showing any sign of cracking under pressure from their talisman.

Dzeko was included in Paulo Fonseca’s match-day squad for their preseason friendly against Arezzo tomorrow, a move which suggests the Giallorossi still have little intention of letting him go.

Icardi has missed every fixture under Antonio Conte this summer and is being excluded from tactical drills and practice matches at Appiano Gentile.

However, it seems not even this has proved sufficient to make it clear he has no future at the club.
