According to recent reports, it appears that Luciano Spalletti might be on his way to South America. Spalletti is under contract with Inter until June 30, 2021, but he may soon be back in the managing game.

In the last few hours, the Ecuadorian Football Federation has inquired about the former Inter coach, according to FCInterNews.

They have a three-year project to sort out their line up for the Qatar World Cup in 2022. Other candidates for the job include Jurgen Klinsmann, Clarence Seedorf, and Gianni De Biasi.

Inter will wait and will be hoping for a positive outcome because, if Spalletti were to be hired, the Nerazzurri would save about 18 million euros gross.

Inter will have to wait until mid-September as that is when the Ecuadorian federation will make their decision. Until then Inter will be crossing their fingers in hopes that Luciano Spalletti is chosen and becomes the face of the Ecuadorian team.
