Napoli have not given up on signing Mauro Icardi yet and will continue to wait for the Inter striker for as long as possible, according to Sky Sport.

Inter’s hierarchy have arranged a meeting with Icardi’s wife and agent Wanda Nara, in which they will reiterate that Maurito is no longer part of the club’s plans.

Napoli will secure a deal for Fernando Llorente as soon as they withdraw their interest for Icardi, but the Partenopei are waiting a little longer in the hope the Argentine changes his mind.

Juventus are also monitoring events in Milan, but the Bianconeri have still not made any official contact this summer with Inter over a deal for Icardi.

Icardi did not attend Inter’s 4-0 win over Lecce at San Siro last night after Conte excluded him from the match-day squad.

He has missed every match the Nerazzurri have played this summer and is not being allowed to take part in tactical drills at Appiano Gentile.
