Inter have lined up SPAL’s Italian striker Andrea Petagna as a back up for Romelu Lukaku Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia’s transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio reports.
According to the report, no contacts have been taken with SPAL yet because the Nerazzurri see this transfer as a last minute on deadline day kind of transfer.
Yesterday the former Atalanta and AC Milan striker’s agent was at Inter’s headquarters to discuss the future of another one of his clients namely Eddy Salcedo, and during those talks the discussion regarding a possible more to Petagna was brought up.
Petagna came up through the youth ranks at AC Milan and featured 5 times across all competitions for the Rossoneri failing to score, before he was shipped off on loan to four clubs before being signed by Atalanta in January 2016.
There he had a decent spell before being transferred to SPAL last summer on a loan with an obligation to buy, where he was instrumental in helping the side avoid relegation, scoring 16 goals in 36 Serie A matches last season.
