Wesley Sneijder hopes Antonio Conte’s Inter can replicate the success of his treble-winning team in 2010.

The Nerazzurri received a tough Champions League group in yesterday’s draw, pitting them against Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund and Slavia Prague.

Sneijder attended the ceremony in Monte Carlo as an ambassador for UEFA and spoke to Sport Mediaset after the draw.

“I wish the best for Inter in this year’s tournament,” the former Dutch international said.

“Why couldn’t they win it again? They’ve signed great players this summer to join a team that was already strong.

“We can compare it a bit to our team 10 years ago, but we have to give this side time to get going in the league.”

Inter are due to begin their European campaign at home to Slavia Prague, before traveling to play Barca at the Camp Nou.

Conte will be hoping to recreate the spirit shown by Jose Mourinho’s side when they beat the Catalan giants in the 2010 semi-finals, surviving a 1-0 defeat in the second leg despite an early red card for Thiago Motta.
