Lautaro Martinez has shared his delight following Inter’s 2-1 victory over Cagliari and belief that the team can still get better.

“My first goal at the San Siro was against Cagliari and I scored against them again today. I am very happy, but the most important thing is that we won. I am very happy with the three points obtained today,” he told Inter TV post-match.

The Argentine then spoke on the differences he’s felt playing under Antonio Conte compared to Luciano Spalletti.

“Last year we played with a totally different system. Now the team feels much more comfortable, with many players in the opposing box which means more scoring chances arise.

“To play even better, you need to know each other well and after every training session, especially Conte’s, things can only continue to improve.”

He concluded by touching on Inter’s Champions League group stage draw.

“Difficult games are ahead for us. We will prepare for them the best we can. We know what it means to play in the Champions League, but even today winning against Cagliari was not easy.”
